Food. Wine. Culture. The world in one day.
No princesses, no kiddie atmosphere. World Showcase, authentic international cuisine, seasonal festivals, and the best restaurants Disney has to offer. Here's how to do it right.
The Surprise
If you've never been to EPCOT, you're in for a surprise. It's the most different of all the Disney parks — no princesses, no roller coasters as the main theme, none of that "kids' park" energy. And plenty of repeat visitors say it's their favorite.
Why?
A heads-up, though: if you're traveling with very young children (ages 3-7), EPCOT can feel less magical than Magic Kingdom. But with teens, couples, or adults without kids, it's probably the best park Disney has.
Layout
Unlike other Disney parks, EPCOT is split into two big areas with completely different personalities.
Science, technology, and the future. The area closest to the entrance, with attractions about space, energy, evolution, the oceans, and communication.
The other half of the park, completely different. A central lagoon ringed by 11 pavilions, each with authentic architecture, native cuisine, local shops, and staff from that country (young people on Disney's cultural exchange program).
The 11 countries around the lagoon:
Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada — each with real restaurants, authentic drinks, and cast members who greet you in the local language.
What to Ride
Ranked by priority so you don't waste a minute.
A Lightning Lane Multi Pass is worth it for Cosmic Rewind (lines up to 2h), Soarin', and Test Track.
Seasonal
Each festival runs 2-3 months and transforms the park with temporary food booths, live shows, and special décor.
March - July
Giant Disney topiaries, 100+ themed food booths, and weekly live concerts. Great for families, couples, and photographers.
Aug - November
The most famous festival. 40+ booths, wine and culinary tastings, and the Eat to the Beat concert series with '80s bands.
Late Nov - Dec
Holiday traditions from each World Showcase country, the Candlelight Processional, and international holiday food.
Jan - February
Disney on Broadway concerts, live art classes, 'artistic' food, and Disney galleries. For art lovers and sophisticated couples.
GS tip: show up hungry to Food & Wine, share plates across your group, and taste lots of wines — the festival is built for grazing.
EPCOT's Specialty
EPCOT has some of the finest dining in all of Walt Disney World. Book 60 days in advance.
Prefer no reservations? Try quick-service gems like Yorkshire County Fish Shop (UK, ~$13), Les Halles Boulangerie (France), or Kringla Bakeri Og Kafé (Norway).
The Strategy
The right way to enjoy EPCOT isn't racing between rides — it's grazing your way around World Showcase. "Drinking Around the World" is an unofficial but beloved adult tradition: grab one signature drink in each pavilion.
A margarita in Mexico, a Carlsberg in Norway, Tsingtao in China, a giant beer in Germany, an Aperol Spritz in Italy, hot sake in Japan, Moroccan red wine, champagne in France, English ale in the UK, and a Moosehead in Canada. Eleven pavilions, eleven drinks — pace yourself, alternate with water, and never drive back after drinking.
For "Eating Around the World," skip the big sit-down meal and sample small plates instead: fish tacos, bratwurst, sushi rolls, crème brûlée, fish & chips, Canadian poutine. About $100 a person, and you taste the whole world in a single day.
Bottom line: EPCOT is best enjoyed eating and drinking, not sprinting between attractions.
Travel in Style
EPCOT is the park to arrive in style. Pick a car that matches your trip.
Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Sonata, or Kia K4 — modern and elegant. EPCOT is the park to show up with style.
Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, or Kia Carnival — minivans that fit the family, the luggage, and all the souvenirs.
Cadillac Lyriq or Tesla Model Y — an elegant arrival, with a Tesla Supercharger nearby at Disney Springs.
The GS Difference
Some visitors come to Orlando five times without ever giving EPCOT a chance — because they heard it was "boring for kids." Big mistake. For couples, adults, families with teens, foodies, wine lovers, and anyone who wants Disney without the Magic Kingdom chaos, EPCOT may become your favorite park.
GS Car Rental is here to be part of that discovery: personal service over WhatsApp, custom itineraries based on your trip, recommended restaurants and park maps sent ahead of time, free airport delivery (MCO, MIA, FLL, SFB), and a diverse fleet from economy to premium — with no fine print.
